The challenge

The call came in at 07:10 the morning after the storm, with water coming through a bedroom ceiling. The immediate need was to stop further ingress; the roof was too wet and too windy for permanent work that day.

What we did

Sheeted and secured the same morning, with the loose ridge sections removed rather than left. Everything was photographed at roof level for the insurance claim. The permanent repair — new ridge, dry-fixed, and replacement tiles from a matched batch — went in later that week once conditions allowed.

Result

Ingress stopped within four hours of the call. The insurer settled on the photographs and itemised quotation without requiring a second assessment.
