More leaks start at the chimney than anywhere else. The lead flashing is usually the culprit — either it was mortar-pointed rather than wedged and pointed, or it has torn where it has been walked on. Repointing the stack without renewing the flashing solves nothing, which is why we quote them together.

Failed lead and loose mortar removed back to sound work.

Repointed, flaunching renewed, pots re-bedded.
